Primary Art Packs is part of Artworkshops, an educational consultancy based in Surrey which is dedicated to helping teachers and children get more out of the Art curriculum.  This web site gives details of our Project Teaching Packs and DVDs. They provide practical step-by-step guidance for infant, primary and middle school teachers on a whole range of exciting Art and Design projects for Key Stages 1 and 2 and as an introduction to the processes at Key Stage 3. The Project Teaching Packs have been developed over a number of years based on our experience with teachers and children and are fully illustrated with numerous colour photographs.  The DVDs can be used as stand alone teahcing aids or in conjunction with thye Project Teahcing Packs.  We also offer free information and advice on organising an Arts Week

Artworkshops (www.artworkshops.co.uk) has been established since 1997 and was previously known as J&S Workshops. We have been working in the south of England and London as independent art consultants for over 13 years and run courses for teachers in Key Stages 1 and 2, with specialist textiles courses for Key Stages 3 & 4.  We also work in schools with children and teachers, often during Arts Weeks. We have also developed extensive resources which can be purchased and used by teachers throughout the UK.

Our aim for teachers is:

  • To explain how to achieve 'good art practices'
  • To teach new art methods
  • To explain processes
  • To inspire new ideas and confidence in teaching
  • And to revitalise the art curriculum

Our work with children:

  • Generates enthusiasm for Art, Craft & Design
  • Enables them to experience new processes and materials
  • Gives them confidence and a sense of achievement by producing exciting pieces of art

All of our Project Teaching Packs have been developed specifically for Key Stages 1 to 3 and cover a range of exciting Art and Craft skills. They are excellent value for money and provide valuable information, guidance and support for teachers and their support staff.  Each pack includes a CD of all of the images in each pack together with many additional images, and can be used with an interactive white board.   DVDs are available to complement our Wax batik and Screen-printing packs.  Fibrecrafts produces a range of Starter Packs containing the necessary materials and equipment to get you started on each of the projects.

Both teachers and children will also find lots of ideas on the web site, and can view pictures of artwork created by other children in the photogalleries.  We will be happy to include your school art if you send us pictures by email.  Please confirm that you own the copyright in the photographs and that you give us permission to display the pictures on this web site. Where children are in the picture this will also require the parent's permission.

We hope that you find this web site to be both useful and informative.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any comments.
